Ciao, and welcome to Italian Kitchen Confessions!
I’m Laura — an Italian food blogger, recipe developer, and photographer passionate about sharing authentic Italian recipes and food traditions. This blog is my little corner of the internet where I bring together stories from my Italian roots, modern twists from my travels, and kitchen tips to help you cook with confidence at home.
My First Confession: Who I Am
I grew up in northern Italy, in the rolling vineyard hills of Treviso — a region famous for Prosecco, fresh produce, and traditional Italian cooking. After studying in Milan and Paris, I moved to Dubai in 2010 for work. and I met my husband Rob, who shares my love for food, travel, and discovering new flavors. In 2021 we relocated to New York, which now is our home.
When I’m not testing recipes or photographing dishes for my Italian food blog, you’ll likely find me traveling, swimming, or exploring local markets for seasonal inspiration.

My Second Confession: Who Inspires Me
My love for Italian food began in my family’s kitchen. My father taught me to appreciate quality ingredients, while my mother showed me how to turn them into beautiful meals with thoughtful menus and table settings.
Today, I’m also inspired by my husband. Together, we’re constantly exploring cuisines around the world — sometimes recreating them at home, other times experimenting with new pairings and flavors. He often challenges me to go beyond tradition, but the result is always delicious (and usually paired with a good wine!).
My Third Confession: My Food Philosophy
I was raised on the Mediterranean diet, centered on seasonal vegetables, grains, seafood, and a balanced mix of proteins. I believe food should be nourishing but also joyful — which means allowing yourself to indulge now and then.
While Italian cuisine is at the heart of what I cook, I also love trying recipes from other cultures. For me, traveling is not complete without a food itinerary — dishes to taste, markets to explore, and flavors to bring back and reinterpret in my own kitchen.
